    Old hardware vs new hardware....

I did a photographic essay on the subject on my website:

    Very nice!
I have only recently got into buffing some metals in my lil' shop. I have a basic 4-wax-stick set of buffing compounds which I got from an antique mall. Any thoughts on which compounds you favor?

    Thanks,
    Chris

I personally favor the tripoli compound. It's usually reddish brown in color, but I'm not sure what set you've got.

Thanks! My rescued antique compound set is (likely) black emery, brown tripoli, white diamond, and red rouge. I can't believe how many years I did without a buffing system, because now I see it can do wonders.
