    Chain for chest lids

Anyone have a source for the proper chain for the lid on the chests?

Try Googling "plumber's chain" or "sash chain". It's hard to find the right size with the right plating.

I just ordered this to try:

I measured an existing chain and found it to have about 24 links per foot and it matches up with the Trade Size 1/0 chain on the chart. Each lid restraint chain is approximately 7" in length.

    Chain came in today

The stainless steel chain looks to be the right size when compared to vintage restraint chains I have on hand. It looks pretty good!

Very good. That looks like it’ll work. Most non tool box brothers would never know difference.
