    5-Drawer Products

    The Gerstner Style 15 was described in our 1907 Circular as "A Toolmaker's Portable Tool Case".

    The Dimensions of the case were:
    Style 15 - 8" wide x 8-1/8" tall x 14-1/2" long

    There were 5 drawers with inside heights of 7/8", 7/8" ,1-1/8", 1-1/2" and 1-7/8".

    The front lid (door) was removable, and the center panel of the front lid was a mirror.

    The original version of the Gerstner Style 15 and the Gerstner Style 18 had the same dimensions. The Style 15 had drawers that looked like they came out of the side of the case when compared to the Style 18.

    Gerstner Tool Chests - Style 18

    The Gerstner Style 18 was described in our 1907 Circular as "A Toolmaker's Portable Tool Case".

    The Dimensions of the case were:
    Style 18 - 14-1/2" wide x 8-1/8" tall x 8" deep

    There were 5 drawers with inside heights of 7/8", 7/8" ,1-1/8", 1-1/2" and 1-7/8".

    The front lid (door) was removable from the chest and could be hung up, or placed on the top of the case. The center of the front lid was a mirror, which was described as a "Handy Addition"

    The original version of the Gerstner Style 18 and the Gerstner Style 15 had the same dimensions. The Style 18 had drawers that had the traditional look of a chest, whild the Style 15 had drawers that looked like they came out of the side of the case when compared to the Style 18.

    Gerstner Tool Chests - Style 40

    The Gerstner Style 40 was designed for Electricans and Telephone men.

    The Dimensions of the case were:
    Style 40 - 16" wide x 12" tall x 8" deep

    The chest featured 4 small drawers that were 1", 1-1/4", 1-1/2" and 2" tall and the bottom full-width drawer was 3" tall.

    The open compartment in the case was 6" wide x 7" tall and 8" deep. The compartment was designed to hold a torch or other bulky tools.

    Gerstner Tool Chests - Style 11

    The Gerstner Style 11 was designed for Machinists with heavy tools, especially those used in Garages and Engine Rooms.

    The Dimensions of the case are:
    Style 11 - 20-1/2" wide x 12-3/4" tall x 12" deep

    The half-width drawers are 3", 1-1/2" & 1-1/2" tall and the full-width drawers are 2" and 4" tall.

    The drawer bottoms were 3-ply birch plywood.

    Gerstner TOol Chests - Style 12

    The Gerstner Style 12 was designed for Machinists with heavy tools, especially those used in Garages and Engine Rooms.

    The Dimensions of the case are:
    Style 12 - 26-1/2" wide x 14" tall x 14" deep

    The half-width drawers are 3", 1-1/2" & 1-1/2" tall and the full-width drawers are 2-2/1" and 4-1/2" tall.

    The drawer bottoms were 3-ply birch plywood.

    Gerstner Tool Chests - Style 38

    The Gerstner Style 38 was a machinists portable tool case.

    The Dimensions of the case are:
    Style 38 - 18" wide x 12" tall x 10-1/2" deep

    The 5 full-width drawers were 1", 1", 1-1/2", 2" and 3-1/2" tall.

    Gerstner Tool Chests - Style 43 & 44

    The Gerstner Style 43 and 44 were designed for pattern makers, cabinet makers and machinists who carry a 24" scale and other long tools.

    The Dimensions of the cases are:
    Style 43 - 26" wide x 13-1/2" tall x 8-1/2" deep
    Style 44 - 31" wide x 12-1/2" tall x 8-1/2" deep

    For many years, the Style 44 was the widest standard tool case that we produced.

    The 2 half-width drawers were 1" tall. The full-width drawers were 1-1/2", 1-1/2" and 3" tall.

    Style 308A

    The Gerstner Style 308A was designed for Professional Make-Up Artists to carry a smaller selection of Make-Up on location during photo and movie shoots.

    The Dimensions of the cases are:
    Style 308A - 14" wide x 12" tall x 7-3/8" deep

    The case had stainless steel drawer bottoms were not felted, so the user could wipe out any make-up that might spill out of containers. There were 2 elastic straps that were used to hold small brushes or tissues, while the artist was touching up the actors make-up.

    Gerstner Tool Chests - Style 14

    The Gerstner Style 14 was described as:

    "Being compact, it will take care of the average kit of toolmaker's tools and is easily carried from one job to another."

    The first picture is from the 1920 Catalog and the second picture is from the 1925 catalog.

    The Dimensions of the case are:
    Style 14 - 14" wide x 11" tall x 7-3/8" deep

    The 3 half-width drawers were 3/4", 3/4" and 1-3/4" tall. The 2 full-width drawers were 3/4" and 2" tall.
